Final Peer Support Session
To conclude the short, but exciting Peer Support Program for 2020, the year seven's and peer support leaders recently completed their final session together. The aim of the session was to help year seven's adjust back into a physical learning environment by collaborating with others, rather than learning online. The main activity involved surviving a hypothetical plane crash where they had to complete several mini activities with a time limit. We hope that the year seven's enjoyed their year with us and will continue to use the skills they learnt in further years ahead.
Celebratory Breakfast Club
On Thursday 28th of October, our Student Representative Council, hosted the popular Celebratory Breakfast. All students and staff were invited to come along and enjoy bacon & eggs, hash browns, milkshakes and fresh juice in addition to your normal menu. We look forward to continue welcoming students & staff to Breakfast Clubs every Thursday for the rest of the term.
2021 Student Leadership Event
On Wednesday 21st of October, the SOC Community came together to participate in our House Captain Live Q & A debate. This was a whole school event. It was a wonderful way to connect the SOC Community once again as we continued with the Leadership Application process. The school hosted the Live Q & A session using a digital platform.
Our Sports Prefects, Performing Arts Prefects and Peer Support Mentor Leaders have also been finalised. Students that applied for the positions presented for an interview.
We would like to congratulate all our successful candidates and applicants for participating in the process.

South Oakleigh College 2020 Writing Competition
Challenging times need positive actions , therefore we conducted a Novel writing Competition as an opportunity for our remote students to get creative and show off their writing skills and knowledge. They had a choice between a short story, (3 chapters) a novel or poetry.
A large number of students participated and the entries were of very high standards, which made choosing our winners a difficult decision.
1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes were awarded to:
- Margaret Derziotis
- Kartik Pardeshi
- Holly Harrison
