SOC College Captains

Our 2021 College Captains
Esther Walker, Grevillea 4, 2021 S.R.C. President
Hi everyone, my name is Esther Walker, and I am the 2021 S.R.C. President. Over the last three years, I have held positions of responsibility in the Student Representative Council, including my current roles of Leading Campaigns Representative and Peer Support Leader. In these roles I have displayed my organisational skills, being instrumental in facilitating successful Breakfast Club sessions, Harmony Day and WellFest Week.
As S.R.C. President, I aim to increase student voice through suggestion boxes and group sessions. Listening and clarifying the student issues by advocating on their behalf will enable events, clubs and opportunities to be run according to their interests. I am honoured to be accepted for the role and look forward to supporting the College as I collaborate with the leadership team.
Nishtha Patel, Banksia 6, 2021 College Captain
Hi, everyone. I am Nishtha Patel. Thank you for electing me to be one of the 2021 school captains. As a team player, I will always be there to listen to innovative ideas and constructive feedback that will bring positive changes around us. Next year, I aim to increase the physical activities conducted during lunchtimes by working with the 2021 leadership team. I am excited to be working alongside two amazing school captains next year to support the needs of our growing school community. All ideas are welcomed and please come forward for a chat, questions, or suggestions any time. I am looking forward to acting upon students’ ideas and creating an unforgettable year.
Tamika Cantlon, Waratah 6, 2021 College Captain
Kia Ora, I am Tamika Cantlon, and I am one of the school captains for 2021. 2020 has been a year like we have never experienced before and 2021 will also bring fresh challenges for the entire student body. There has never been a greater need for all students to feel supported. I want to ensure the school continues to flourish during these unprecedented times. We will accomplish this by building community, fostering engagement and promoting equality through stronger connections between the year levels and encouraging involvement in all college activities. I look forward to working with staff, fellow students and the wider school community. I am always available if you have any questions, ideas or concerns.
Billy Watterson, Acacia 6, 2021 College Captain
Hello, I’m Billy Watterston one of your new elected School Captains. I am extremely excited to be representing South Oakleigh College and thrilled to watch the school grow and achieve success over the next 12 months. I am very ambitious and driven to reach and succeed in my goals. I am also extremely focused and dedicated to achieving success in any way shape or form. My plans for 2021 would consist of increasing the amount of academic participation which may involve promoting extra-curricular activities inside and outside of school, to help support the learning experience for students across the school. I am looking forward to working with the Leadership team, fellow School Captains and students across the school: feel free anytime to come forward and ask any questions or have a chat.
