SOC School Council

What's Going on at School Council and Why Should I Care?

How exciting to be back at school!

The school council has been meeting virtually during lockdown and even during the latest school holidays.

Our big project at the moment is reviewing some school policies.  This sounds dry and boring, but it really isn't.  Our policies are the foundation of our school-parents relationship and it is important that we set a good foundation that works for our community.

Why should you care?

Well, because should anything go wrong or need resolving, the policies are the agreement we have on how things should work.  If we are not comfortable with them, better sort it out now, not during a crisis.  A bit like a pre-nup.

The newly-reviewed policies will soon show on our website.  We know that you may not find them exciting bed time reading, so the key points from each will go into the A to Z Guide that is provided to all parents (and will also go on our website).

The last two policies left to review are the Dress Code and the Bullying Prevention policies.

Don't worry, we are not going to change school colours.  Promise!

But if you have points of concerns or ideas, now is a good time to make them heard.

How can you make your voice heard?

The team reviewing the policies include parents:  myself (Inbal), Greg Dellas, Nikki Kaur, Ruth Buckland Mitzi Sneesby, and our principal, Helen.

How to contact councillors?

You can reach out in person if you know them or through the office if you don't.

I am happy for parents to contact me directly on email inbal@inbal.com.au or text 0423850418.
