Call Out Dedicated Musicians : Recital Centre Accelerando Music Program 2020

 

I'd like to encourage all LSC exceptional young artists to come see me to consider applying for this Recital Centre Music program to help accelerate their music studies.

 

Melbourne Recital Centre's Accelerando Program is designed to help you encourage and inspire the next generation of talented musicians.

 

This free year-long program is open to Victorian Government Secondary School students in Years 10-12 who experience geographic, financial or other barriers to accessing high quality live music performances and industry experiences.

 

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to;

 

  *   receive instrumental lessons with leading industry professionals,

  *   access world-class concerts,

  *   participate in music workshops with the highest quality resources and technology, and

  *   perform in an end of year recital in Melbourne Recital Centre's Salon.

 

All instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome to apply for 2020, with online applications closing Friday 4 October 2019.

Call Out Music Theatre Pre-Production Expressions of Interest

 

Expression of Interest are sought from aspiring Music Theatre performers to be a part of a new original Musical now in Pre-production with plans to perform the closing number this Cultural concert.

 

The Musical's working title is "In The Storm of Roses" and it is based on Greek Mythology about the value the that Art brings to our world.

 

We are seeking the following characters - most will be required for the closing song - "Art Brings Beauty to the World"

  • Orpheus
  • Apollo 
  • Eurydice  
  • Apollo, 
  • Hades, 
  • ​Persephone

The 9 Muses

  • Kalliope of epic poetry 
  • Terpsichore of dance 
  • Thalia of comedy 
  • Melpomene of tragedy
  • Erato of love poetry 
  • Polyhymnia was named Muse of religious hymns
  • Ourania was named Muse of astronomy
  • Kleio was named Muse of history
  • Euterpe was named Muse of Music / lyric poetry.

  • Pegaiai (Pegaeae) were the nymphs of springs;
  • Krenaiai (Crenaeae) were naiads of fountains;
  • Potameides presided over rivers and streams;
  • Limnades and Limnatides inhabited lakes; and
  • Heleionomai were the nymphs of marshes and wetlands.]
