Future Schools Alliance – Invitation

This week I received a communication from The Future Schools Alliance (FSA) inviting Blue Mountains Grammar School to become a member school.

This is a significant moment in the story of our school. The FSA is a community of innovative educational leaders and schools who collaborate to evolve and transform their school communities so that all learners are enabled to explore their holistic potential. When reviewing the FSA site, the benefits of being a member school provides our team of educators and support staff with deliberate opportunities to:

  • Engage with a learning community of transformational leaders and innovative schools that support each other to explore and promote a new educational future.
  • Work with leaders to accelerate our journey towards innovation and research-based practice by providing stretch, provocation, critical and creative reflection. This will enable our community (staff, students, and parents) to open new ways of thinking about education so that every student who walks through the gates of our school is enabled to explore, meet and exceed their potential.
  • Walk our own path. Future Schools recognise all schools are different. As a member school of FSA, we still have 100 per cent autonomy over our school's growth journey while also having highly regarded partners that we can bounce our ideas off.
  • Harness the collective wisdom and innovations that exist within other member schools.
  • Engage in regular professional learning and experiences that will help inform the work of the team at our School.

Schools are dynamic by nature. The best educational leaders have high regard for culture, strategy, and execution. The best schools relentlessly deliver the best learning model for our young people. And that is what we are continuing to build at BMGS. I am excited about the future and partnering with you and other families as we walk this path with each other and accessing everything that FSA has to offer our community.

In this new venture, BMGS joins several other significant schools across Australia, including Wesley College (VIC), William Clarke College (NSW), Arndell Anglican College, St Phillip's Christian College (NSW), Hillcrest Christian College (QLD), St. Peter's College (SA), Trinity College (SA), The Hamilton & Alexander College (VIC), Kardinia International College (VIC), Guildford Grammar School (WA), All Saint's College (WA), Perth College (WA), Sacred Heart College (WA) among others.

EduTech Conference

For three days next week I will join several of our staff at the EduTech Conference in Melbourne. EduTech is one of the largest education events in the world, and it is one of the best known and best quality educational events in Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Each year there are more than 5,000 people who attend. I will be posting some updates on our Facebook page, so please feel free to comment. Of course, I am available on email and phone if I am needed by anyone in the community. As always, I am happy to have you arrange to visit or meet with me for a coffee if you would like to find out more.
