Year 9 Wood Technology

Year 9 wood has started Semester 2 with learning about the processes of designing and creating a wooden chopping board. 

Students have conducted research into different styles of chopping boards, and have used this information as inspiration to develop their own design that they would like to make. 

Students were provided with a range of different types of timber, and they had the opportunity to choose which ones they would like to use to make their chopping board. They then glued these pieces together, and after being introduced to many new hand tools and power tools, were able to begin the process of shaping their wooden pieces to their desired designs.
