Andrea Marshall

Wominjeka Everyone,

For any inquiries, please contact me, Andrea on oshc.brunswick.nw.ps@education.vic.gov.au. I will be stepping up as acting coordinator in Bernadetta’s absence. Bernadettta should be back the middle of this week – with a tan!

We’ve been really into our soups and curries this week. Ruby’s “very excellent” Minestrone soup was a hit and same with Laxmi’s fabulous veg curries. There’s something wonderful about a hot meal in the middle of Winter. Everything is getting eaten! This week’s cooking club has been all about Sushi. Some students are excellent at rolling their seaweed sheets and others are a bit wonky, but all tasted great. We have also re-instated sewing club with hand sewing and machine skills being supported. Craft has been really popular this term and we’re loving all the creations.

Parents and carers can now enter the MPR to collect their children. We can continue to call your children to the sign out area upon request.

Masks: it is now the government recommendation that all children over eight wear a mask while inside. We would prefer re-usable cloth masks so please pack a mask. Students with family members isolating with Covid-19 at home must wear a mask at all times. We will continue our Covid-19 safety plan that includes washing all items at the end of the day, wiping down door handles and supporting children to regularly wash hands and use hand santiser.

Donations: We really need bouncy balls. Some may have been squirreled away in pockets and bags and we would really appreciate their return. They are a hot ticket item at OSHC and 30 seem to vanish every term. Also, if you have triangle bandages, we would also really appreciate a donation.

Reminders: For all new enrolments for term 3, please see the school’s website for further details. If your permanent bookings have changed, please remember to send us through an email and we will update your bookings.

August 11th: Will be a student-free day, therefore OSHC will be operating. Please place your bookings as early as possible.

Lastly: Please take the time to mark your children absent if they won’t be attending an OSHC session. We need to chase up the where-abouts of every single child attending after school care. This can be a very stressful burden on our educators. We worry a lot! The app is best, but if you are having trouble, a call to the office or an SMS on our number will work too. We also need to know if your child is isolating due to Covid-19 so we can mark your absence correctly.
