Principal's Report

GRADE 5/6 CAMP:

It was AMAZING!

All parents should be very proud of their children! the Camp staff complimented us on the manners and behaviour of our students.

Camp is an experience that creates life long memories. They challenged themselves and each other, they encouraged each other and they persevered even when it got a bit hard!

Yes they will be tired, very tired, there may be a few wet/ dirty clothes in the bags but it was all worthwhile.

We couldn't have done it without our fabulous team - thanks to our parent helpers Sam , Sarah and Rob and our staff Briere and Ed (Mr Kiddle) and of course Alysha Buzzini, Brooke Eastwood and Stuart Jones who were all on duty from dawn til - well beyond dusk. Thank you .

I love being part of camp and seeing the transformation in our students- it is enlightening!

Our sensational football team played in the Regional Finals on Monday (prior to camp) they had some fantastic wins and played in the semi finals and lost to Mont Albert Primary. It was a great day and the boys worked really hard. Thanks also to our parents who helped so much and Alysha Buzzini who coached the boys for the season!

Sian McQualter's maternity leave

Sian's class organised a baby shower for her this morning - which was great fun!

To say that the ACPS staff and community are thrilled for both Sian and Kieran on the pending birth of their third baby is an understatement. We know the new addition to their family will experience a world full of such love and support. Our sincerest congratulations to all! Sian, we will miss you.

Exciting Author Visit - Coral Vass

Next Friday 12 August, Award Winning children’s author Coral Vass will be visiting our school to work with our students. Specialising in storytelling and writing workshops, Coral will be sharing her stories with all our students as well as how she comes up with ideas for her books. Coral will be working with the Junior School in the morning, followed by the middle and senior school after recess.

With Book Week beginning the following Monday (15th August) and reading being such a high priority at Andersons Creek Primary School, the school will cover the costs and there will be no cost incurred by families for this event. If you would like to check out Coral’s published books and website, here is a link.

On a personal note:  thank you to everyone in our community for the very kind words and many comments that appeared on our ACPS face book page following Jimmy Harris's post about Happy Principal's Day - I was overwhelmed by the support and kindness.
