Welcome back to Term 3.  Hopefully everybody enjoyed their break and have returned refreshed and ready.

This term we welcome back Mr Falkingham from his long service leave and by all accounts he had a fantastic time away exploring the North West of the state.

Farewell Mr Millichamp

Today we are saying farewell to Mr Millichamp. Ian has been at the College for five years, looking after the management of the beef herd and the pasture improvement and fodder conservation programme. I would like to thank Ian for everything he has done for the College and in those five years.

Over the years Ian has been instrumental in implementing an A.I. programme to improve the quality of the beef cattle and also the pasture renovation programme to improve our hay and silage.

Ian has also been involved in the coaching of our Farm Skills team which resulted in the College placing equal first with Cunderdin Ag.  More recently, Ian was involved with the College in winning the Gate 2 Plate Beef Feedlot Challenge.

We wish Ian all the best in his new position at Farmwest and I am sure he will still have some involvement with the College in the future.

Foot and Mouth Disease

With the current news that Foot and Mouth Disease has been discovered right on our door step, it is a timely reminder to us all of the importance of good bio security.

Cleaning our work boots before leaving or returning to the College and making sure our vehicles and horse floats are not carrying weed and seeds are two small things that we can all do to help maintain our College bio security.

Over this term Mr Dyson and myself will continue to discuss bio security measures with students whilst they are on Farm.
