RECRUITMENT UPDATE: GIRTON GRAMMAR SCHOOL - PRINCIPAL

The important role of recruiting the next school leader of Girton Grammar has been steadily progressing. I am pleased to take this opportunity to provide you with an update.

After consultation with Independent Schools Victoria, Fisher Leadership and other educators, the Board has changed the leadership title from “Head” to “Principal”, as a more appropriate, inclusive and progressive title. The role and responsibilities will remain unchanged.

The response to the executive search by Fisher Leadership has been exceptionally strong, both in number and calibre of applicants. First round interviews and assessments have been completed, resulting in a shortlist of five applicants who now progress to second-round interviews with members of the Board and an educational expert over the coming week.

Applicants who progress to the third and final stage will participate in a comprehensive interview process with the full Board, including a presentation of their vision for Girton Grammar, and psychological and other assessments.

On the basis of a satisfactory outcome to the final interviews, the Board expects to complete the appointment process in late August, with an announcement to the school and wider community in September following the completion of all contractual and other due diligence.

The Board is committed to the appointment of a principal who is passionate about the school’s future and with the skills and dedication to make it a reality. They will reflect the values on which Girton is founded and the high standard of education and student care that our community expects. Guided by our Mission and Values, they will oversee the implementation of the five-year Strategic Plan (2023-28) that will be released in the coming weeks.

A reminder that the Board Parent Forum will be held on Thursday 15th September at 6.00 pm in the Girton Lecture Theatre. All parents and carers are warmly invited to submit questions and register attendance: https://astra.girton.vic.edu.au/survey/intro/2796

I look forward to seeing you there.
