WRITING

Text Type:  Narrative

The students enjoyed working collaboratively on a story with a peer. They took a known Fairy Tale and adapted it, planning their own imaginative story. The students had to follow the narrative text structure that included story elements such as setting, characters, conflict, plot and resolution.

Some titles included:

The Three Owls and the Cat

Little Red Riding Wolf

The Three Little Foxes

There are many authors who 'reinvent' the classic Fairy Tale. Examples include:

'The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig' by Eugene Trivizas

THE TRUE STORY OF THE 3 LITTLE PIGS! by Jon Scieszka

Goldilocks and Just the One Bear by Leigh Hodginkson

Be playful, creative and imaginative and have a go at writing your own version of a Fairy Tale with your child.
