Physical Vibe News
As Term 2 comes to an end it has been so fantastic to see the resilience of the students at our school. So many sporting events were rescheduled or cancelled yet they still have smiles on their faces and a determination to try their best at all sporting activities.
The return to school saw us adopt a fun games based approach to finish the term and an opportunity for students to showcase their skills across a range of activities.
Life Education Incursion - Whole School
We are all looking forward to the Life Education sessions next term. Life Education aims to deliver an interactive program with a focus on physical, social and emotional health and wellbeing. The program empowers students with knowledge, skills and attitudes they need to make informed decisions about their health.
The year levels will be completing the following modules:
Foundation – Harold’s Friendships
Year 1 – Safety rules
Year 2 - Growing Good Friends
Year 3 – Mind Your Medicine
Year 4 – All Systems
Year 5 - Think Twice Go
Year 6 – Think Twice
Additional information is also available via the Life Education website.
This program is a part of the Health and Physical Education curriculum and we encourage all students to participate.
All permission and payment is to be made via QKR by Wednesday 14th July.
Division Cross Country Update
Unfortunately after the event being rescheduled (due to lockdown) to three different dates School Sport Victoria made the decision to cancel the Casey South Division Cross Country. This was due to the uncertainty surrounding restrictions. It was so disappointing for the 12 students who had been training for the past few weeks in preparation for the event. To their credit they took it in their stride and showed great sportsmanship in congratulating the three students who will progress straight to the Southern Metropolitan Regional carnival due to their top 3 finish at District.
We wish Lara, Kade and Tye all the best at Regionals in term 3.
Changing up our Arts Program with PERFORMING ARTS!!
In Term 3, students will develop their understanding of dance, build their confidence when performing and explore a range of movement vocabulary. They will use the Elements of Dance to create dance sequences that demonstrate fundamental movement skills to represent their ideas.
This exciting new dance program will help prepare students for our school concert in August. The overall theme is ‘LOVE WHERE YOU LIVE’ and each class is in the process of coming up with their own topic and songs with their classroom teacher. I look forward to working with each class closely next term, as we choreograph their piece together in a safe and happy space.
