CELEBRATING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE@CSPS

Is your child a great problem solver? One way to find out is through the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC)

The AMC is an engaging 30-problem competition that demonstrates the importance and relevance of mathematics in students’ everyday lives; it is open to students in years 3 to 12. Australia’s leading educators and academics, with a deep understanding of our national curriculum standards, actively design the unique AMC problems each year. Held in term 3, the AMC has 2 divisions in Primary School: Middle Primary (years 3–4) and Upper Primary (years 5–6). If your child is interested in the AMC please

CELEBRATING SUCCESSES SEMESTER ONE REPORTS

Semester reports will be VERY different this year as we have commenced ongoing reporting in all year levels. The CSPS Learning Tasks provide assessment and feedback on work being completed in class. Each student will have at least 5 tasks posted and available for you to view.

At CSPS we believe that clear and timely reporting of your child’s achievements and progress at school is important. Feedback from families during Remote Learning indicated that parents and carers wanted information about what the students were achieving and what the next steps (learning goals) were. The Learning tasks provide this.  Check out your child's work through Compass.

To view your child’s tasks, click the ‘Profile’ option for that child on your dashboard. This will take you to their profile page.

Click to their ‘Learning Tasks’ tab. Here you will see their tasks listed. If you have more than one student at the school and wish to view all their Learning Tasks collectively, you can click the pencil icon and select ‘Learning Tasks’.

Click the title of a task to view the details and any results/feedback provided by the teacher. These may include achievement and learning goals or a RUBRIC of 'I can' statements and a learning goal. These instructions have also been made available through Compass.

Semester one reports will be released via Compass. Reports are usually released prior to the end of term to allow parents to speak to their classroom teachers if necessary. Unfortunately, this was not possible this term. Staff will be available for meetings in week 2 of term 3 to discuss reports and Learning Tasks. Invitations to these meetings will be published via Compass once we return to school for Term 3.
