Young Changemakers
Over the last 6 months, Yr 10 students at Northcote High School took part in the Young Changemakers program. This practical example of local philanthropy involves students assessing local not-for-proifits and making decisions about how to distribute money as grants. This program was initiated by the Inner North Community Foundation and funded by the Clifton Hill / North Fitzroy Community Bank Branch of Bendigo Bank, and inspires young leaders to use energy and creativity to become community leaders in the community they live, and will one day work.
A five minute documentary about the program was launched by students from Northcote High School. They hired the Westgarth Cinema, where 75 friends, family, donors, grantees and supporters came together to watch a film about young people reflecting on philanthropy. Youthworx Productions, a local social enterprise, made the film. The film can be seen here. (click to follow link)
