Message from the Principal

St Anthony’s Parish and St Anthony’s School hold the care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people as central and fundamental responsibilities of the Church. St Anthony’s is fully compliant with all policies in relation to Child Safety. These documents ensure compliance with the Victorian Government Child Safety Standards which took effect on 1 January 2017 and reflect our Parishes’ ongoing commitment to ensuring that all children are safe, happy and empowered.

Dear Families and Friends of St Anthony's,

What a difference a day or two makes! We have all been placed  into a circuit breaker lockdown from 11.59 pm last night until to 11. 59 pm on Thursday 3rd June. This means we start flexible learning for all students on Monday 31st May. I am confident that this preparation and our experiences of transitions in Term One and throughout last year will ensure we are all able to meet the challenges of the next six days.

Please ensure you check Dojo regularly as this will continue to be our source of communication for families and learning for students.

More details have been provided by Mrs Kerr in our Learning and Teaching update.

At this stage school will reopen for all students on Friday 4th June unless we contact you with further updates.

Over these past two weeks our students have certainly enjoyed swimming lessons. I would like to thank all our students for representing St Anthony's in such a brilliant way whilst they were at the pool. Thank you to Mr Gow for the amazing work he put into timetables and organising the buses. Thank you to all our wonderful staff and parents who supported our students at the pool. Events like these can not occur without all the support we receive.

It is with sadness that I inform you that Victoria Gelberg's, our Performing Arts teacher, father passed away. She has been on leave over the past few weeks to grieve and to spend time with her family. Please keep Victoria and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Greater Dandenong Sustainability Awards

Our Year Five/ Six students  designed and created sustainable parks. Their work has been entered into the Greater Dandenong Sustainability Awards and can be voted for and viewed by clicking on the heading above.

Next week as part of our flexible learning we will be celebrating Catholic Family Week. A prayer service and special learning opportunities will be shared with families via Class Dojo.

Once again, stay home, stay safe and we will provide any updates as we receive them. Please contact me via email or at school if you have any concerns or if we can be of assistance during this time.
