Wow – hasn’t this term flown by quickly! One more term and we are at the end of 2022 and looking ahead to 2023. This term has been huge at St Francis de Sales and the Parents and Friends Association has been involved in quite a bit.
We’ve had the Cheer Toastie Fun Lunch, which thanks to all your orders raised $681.50 for our school. Who knew that 350 toasties could be cooked and handed out in less than half an hour!!
Grand Parents day came up next, and what a wonderful turnout we had for that. The parents and friends’ association put on the morning tea for all of your children’s special people and it was massive.
The Grade 6 students had their confirmation seminar at SFS this year, where we welcomed the Bishop. The parents and friends was supplied a yummy sausage in bread for lunch for the participating grade 6’s and those completing their confirmation as part of St Kevins Parish.
Through the month of August we raised money for MS via the MS Readathon. We had weekly challenges that showed off our very talented students drawings and designs. There were 24 winners in total, all receiving a new book and bookmark. A huge thank you to our judge Lorenza, she took a lot of time going over all of the entries – all of the entries made it very hard to choose winners!
Next up was Fathers Day – and that was another big day for the Parents and Friends Association. We had helpers arriving from 7am to get those BBQ’s going so that all of the dads, grandparents and special people were able to grab a bacon and egg roll for breaky. We served more than 100 bacon and egg rolls that morning!
We had the annual Father’s day Stall and it went so well. The children were so well behaved, and it is so lovely to see how much care they take in choosing gifts. Definitely a highlight of the year. We also had the Father Day raffle with a huge $800 going to Beyond Blue.
And finally we had an enormous KFC fun lunch today with more than 300 meals being ordered! We hope everyone absolutely loved their special lunch today along with Footy Day!
The Parents and Friends Association wants to send out the biggest thank you to all of the teachers and staff, parents, families, friends and students that support everything that happens at SFS. We absolutely could not organize these days and events without all of you. A very big thank you to all of the parents that have helped through the term, whether it’s been with popcorn and chips, helping with a fun lunch or stall or jumping behind a BBQ. Thank you to the whole Parent’s and Friends Committee also – there is a lot that runs in the background and please know how appreciated you all are. We cannot wait to see what Term 4 will bring!!
