While 2022 is closing down on us at a rapid pace a lot of preparation has already taken place to ensure a smooth start to 2023. All Year 7 and 8 students have completed their 2023 subject selections and will receive their booklists and important information concerning classes for next year in coming weeks.
A reminder to all parents that mid Term 4 Interim reports will be available on Compass when this newsletter goes live. We strongly encourage all parents and guardians to thoroughly read your child’s progress report. If you have any queries or cannot access Compass please contact Ms Baines in the Junior School.
On behalf of the Junior School we would like to congratulate the cast and crew of this year’s school production Seussical Jr for all their amazing efforts to get a show up and running for families and the community. It was an incredible show and we are very proud of all the students and staff for their resilience, dedication, commitment and perseverance to put on an outstanding show!!! Congratulations all.
We would like to sincerely congratulate all Semester 1 Principal Awards recipients who were presented at the start of this term. All Semester 1 Principal award recipients were presented their certificates at a recent year level assembly by Mr McNeil and Ms Purches and which was then streamed on our school You Tube service. There will also be an End of Year Award ceremony for Year 7 – 11 Award recipients in December.
In the first two weeks of Term 4, both Year 7 and 8 cohorts had year level assemblies and performances to begin Term 4 and reflect on the great work and achievements of our students in Term 3. Thank you to the student leaders who assisted the running of the assemblies and who have done an incredible job hosting assemblies this year. Thank you also to the Performing Arts team and students who put on fantastic concerts for each year level.
Year 7 and Year 8 Impact classes have continued to be based on respectful relationships, goal setting, zones of regulation and clubs this semester. Students have been able to develop their own strategy cards regarding what strategies works for them when regulating their own behaviour and emotions.
Recently Tristan Palaia in Year 8 competed in the State School Victorian Athletics Championship at Lakeside, Albert Park. Tristan finished 6th in the 12-13 Boys Shot Put and we congratulate Tristan on this fantastic achievement.
We would also like to congratulate our Year 7 Girls Volleyball team who won two from three Pool games recently in the NMR (North Metro Region) Volleyball tournament. The girls really enjoyed the experience and played very well on the day, going down to Mernda Central in one of their games.
Congratulations to our Year 8 Boys Volleyball team who won through to the NMR Yr 8 Volleyball final and put up a fantastic game with Eltham High School to narrowly go down 2 sets to 1. The team had been training since Term 1 almost every day. Both teams look forward to more Volleyball games in Term 1, 2023.
If you have any other queries or feedback, please contact us any time.
