Sports Report

It has been a busy Term for the Sport Department at Reservoir High, with many students participating in a variety of different sports. This semester students took on many roles, apart from playing, including umpiring, refereeing scoring and coaching. It has been great to see so many students actively participating in a range of different activities which not only extended their level of skills but also encouraged students to take on new challenges.

NMR Badminton Report

Excitement and anticipation on Thursday the 4th of August, as three of our esteemed badminton teams embarked to compete in the Northern Metropolitan Regionals. Numerous other schools were also awarded this opportunity, as the nerves settled for our players that were about to compete against the region’s best.

Our talented students were brimming with expectations, enthusiasm, and a certain degree of confidence. Armed with tireless training and an intense passion, they played their best badminton throughout the day, producing outstanding results. Our Intermediate Girls after battling through their pool, emerged victorious in their grand final against MGC, cementing them as the region’s number 1, a result deserving of their hard efforts. The Senior Girls fell just shy of the winning spot, placing runners up in their entire competition; an unfortunate but also an amazing and respectable outcome. Finally, despite their best efforts, our Intermediate Boys experienced an early crushing defeat against their long-time rival, Epping. Better luck next year boys!

All in all, the day was competitive and -more importantly, incredibly fun for everyone involved. We wish the girls good luck in their upcoming States competition.
