PBL Focus Term 4 Week 1 & 2

The Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) focus for weeks 1 and 2 will be on ‘Showing respect in the classroom’.  Students will participate in lessons which explore how they can be respectful to their peers, teachers (including visiting teachers) and being respectful to our equipment.  Some ways we can show respect in the classroom include, following instructions the first time, not interrupting or distracting others, speaking politely, taking turns, using a quiet inside voice, keeping our hands and feet to ourselves and helping to pack things away when it is time to clean up.

At OFPS, we are safe, respectful, responsible, active learners, who allow others to learn.

PBL Relaunch Day

Monday 17th October, 2022, was the relaunch of the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program. Students from Preschool to Year 6 participated a range of activities to promote our school values; Safe, Respectful, Responsible and Active Learners. Students engaged in team building exercises which required them to cooperate with each other; role playing scenarios where strategies are required to problem solve issues in the playground; a tour of the school to discuss behaviour expectations in each area; as well as designing a superhero outfit to represent one of our four PBL values. There were delicious, PBL coloured treats to purchase at lunch time and in the afternoon, Mr McGee flew the drone above the students who formed the letters of PBL on the Senior Field. Check out the school Facebook page for footage.

Teachers and students enjoyed the day and it was a wonderful way to reinvigorate our PBL program for Term 4.
