Mrs Emily Chatterton

Dear Parents and Carers

Welcome to the last school term of 2022! I hope you enjoyed a safe and restful Spring holiday. It has been lovely to see our students return ready for their final term of learning where they have been active and focused in and outside of the classroom. Our teachers from P-6 have also been very busy participating in additional professional learning during TCAP (or Teacher Collaboration and Planning) days. Part of these days have been dedicated to taking a “deep dive” into the K-2 Mathematics and English Syllabuses which will be implemented in 2023. It has been wonderful working with teachers and seeing their enthusiasm and dedication as we begin this new journey together!

Tell Them From Me Survey

Our school is currently taking part in Tell Them From Me surveys. The parent survey provides us with parent and carer perspectives about the engagement and wellbeing of our students. This information is very valuable and is used to identify strengths and successes, as well as areas to target for improvement of our students. Staff in schools will not be able to identify individuals from their responses. Personal information will not be disclosed by the department to any other person or body other than as required by law. Although participating in the parent survey is entirely voluntary, your responses are very much appreciated. To access the survey for our school, please go to: http://nsw.tellthemfromme.com/ofps22.

Attendance

On occasion, children may need to be absent from school. Justified reasons for student absences may include:

  • being sick or having an infectious disease
  • having an unavoidable medical appointment
  • being required to attend a recognised religious holiday
  • exceptional or urgent family circumstances.

Please remember that following an absence, parents and carers are required to explain the absence within 7 days of the first day of a student’s absence. Absences can be explained via email, phone, replying to SMS notifications, or via a letter on return to school. After three days absence, a medical certificate is required.

Have a fantastic fortnight ahead!

Warm Regards

Emily Chatterton
