Molesworth Street Campus Update

Our new Molesworth Street Campus is fast taking shape, and I am thrilled to share with you some of our students’ art and interpretations of what our new campus will look like.   

In Term 3, our students learned about their new Molesworth Street campus from the Architect, Jesse Judd from Arm Architecture and Landscape Architect, Sarah Hicks from Bush Projects Landscape Architects. Over the course of two weeks, students were encouraged to draw, paint, investigate and share their interpretations of the new campus in response to the themes from the video. 

Some of the themes picked up by our students include sustainability, play, clever design, and the local environment, flora, and fauna. Their art was then scanned and used to create the temporary signage that you can now see on the hoarding at the Molesworth Street site – this was installed over the school holidays.

Construction Update

Construction has been humming along at the Molesworth Street Campus. Works on the gym are continuing, and the installation of concrete panels has begun. In the main school buildings, sheeting for walls and ceilings was installed across all levels. Installation of the lift has started, and the façade nears completion.

Now that Term 4 has started, there will be more goals to work towards. Installation of panels, both internally and externally in the gym will continue, as well as internal work across all levels in the school buildings. Ceilings will take shape over most levels, while tiling for amenities across levels 1 to 4 will begin. The balustrade for the first staircase will be installed, and the lift will be midway through completion. The construction site has said goodbye to the crane because it has been disassembled.

Molesworth Street Kindergarten @ North Melbourne Primary School

A provider has been appointed for the new kindergarten situated on Level 5 of our new Molesworth Street Campus. The kinder will be run by Northern Schools Early Years Cluster and will offer programs for 3 and 4-year-olds.
