As a part of the Level Two Inquiry unit, ‘How do Forces Impact Play?’ we have been using our environment and objects within it to further develop our understanding on how forces impact actions. For example, we have been exploring forces in the playground and creating spring toys to see forces in action.
“You can stretch it by pulling it up. If you touch the top of it and push it down, the spring goes up” – George
“When you push the spring down, it collapses and then it comes back up. When we are walking, the air and our feet up helping us push off the ground.” – Rudra
“My springy uses push and pull because it goes up and down. I can pull it and when I push it, it goes down.” – Parmin
“My pop us toy uses push. When my toy is expanded, I can push it to be smaller.” – Albert
“The Tic Tac Toe game in the ELC uses both push and pull. I know because you push the spinner forward and you pull it back to you.” – Siya
