Captains Corner

Dearest GWPS family, welcome back to term 4! My name is Tiana, and I am your 2022 School Captain. I hope you all had a great holiday! Term 4 is jam packed with exciting events and learning opportunities all students should look forward to.  

In Week 1 we saw our Year 5’s and 6’s participate in the ‘Interrelate’ program. The aim of each of these sessions was to educate us about human development as we grow older. It is important to learn about ourselves and our development as we move into our teenage years. 

Summer inter school sports will also be starting for the year 6’s and we all are excited to participate in our selected sport. 

Further to this , we have our first ever school fun run coming up! Thank you to all who have donated. I strongly encourage everyone to donate to raise money for our school purchase towards new drinking fountains. I look forward to sharing the details of how the event went in my next piece. 

Lastly, the Year 3’s have something very exciting happening! For the first time ever, they are having a one day camp experience at Camp Toolangi, where they will spend a whole day participating in camp activities such as flying fox,  abseiling, billy cart building and high ropes. It is a terrific way for the children to visit a ‘real campsite’ and view the facilities preparing them for future camps.
