Principal's Message

Dear Parents,

We had a wonderful afternoon last Friday with the official opening of the newly refurbished administration building. We waited for many years to receive a grant from Catholic Education to upgrade this magnificent building and could not be happier or more appreciative of the support we received and the finished result.

The administration building was built in 1927 and is the original school building here at St Joseph’s. For many years it was the only building housing students in two classrooms at either end of the building and an office area in the middle for staff.

Our school is immersed in the traditions of the Josephite Sisters who capably led the school for many years. St. Joseph is our patron saint leading us to always be people of trust and faith. Mary MacKillop is our role model never seeing a need without addressing it encouraging our students to live life to the full and take action in their lives.

Regularly we have people drop into St Joseph’s and ask to have a look at the building as they can remember being a student here.  Over the years there have been a few small renovations and upgrades. We were absolutely delighted to receive a supplementary grant from Catholic Education in 2020 and we now have a beautiful building which is above and beyond what we imagined it would become.

A huge thanks to all staff who contributed to our opening of the admin building on Friday.  It was a wonderful afternoon of celebration for our community. Congratulations to the students who represented our school at the opening.

Our  refurbishment was a collaborative project supported by architect Alan Cubbon and previous architect Andrew Costa after a long journey of grant applications. We thank our  builders Baxter constructions for their excellent work and the support we received from Catholic Education staff in particular Loren Livingstone.  I also recognise and thank our amazing staff team for their patience in waiting for adequate staffing facilities. We now have such an amazing facility that we can enjoy for many years to come.

May we all  continue to carry the story of St. Joseph’s Crib Point with us living and celebrating  the St. Joseph’s spirit as has been done by so many people over the past 95 years in the building we proudly stand in today and pass  this on to all future students for many years to come.   May we never forget our school is focussed on the children in our community, the future of our world and may be always surround our children with love, hope and belief that they will  always flourish and shine in our care.
