First Aid Room visits at school

We have adopted a new process this year for advising parents when their child has presented to the First Aid Room for assistance.

To replace the hand written Injury Notification slips, we will now use a facility in Compass which generates an email to the family primary carer (Parent #1 on your Compass Personal details).

The email will contain the reason why a student presented for first aid, the action taken/treatment given and the date and time of the visit.  The office staff will contact you directly by phone if it is deemed necessary; otherwise the email will be your only notification and you are not required to call the school in reply.

Any visit to the First Aid Room will generate an email, no matter how minor the issue and regardless of whether any treatment was administered.  For example, even a wobbly tooth will generate a message.

District Tennis Competition

The District Tennis Tournament will be held at the Royal Avenue Tennis Courts, Sandringham on Tuesday 16th March.  Beaumaris Primary School is able to send players from Grands 4, 5 and 6 to compete in this event.  Please read the details below.  If you are interested in taking part, you need to collect an application form from the office or the sport office or attachment below.  Please note that the child's coach must confirm the competition level they are playing in currently (or recently).

The competition will be a knockout tournament with the last 2 players being selected to represent the district.  Players knocked out in the early rounds will have the opportunity to play further games with other knocked out players and all players have the choice to return to school at the completion of their game or remain to watch the final match.

The open* competition will start at 8.45am and players are required to confirm their registration at the club house at 8.30am.

The girls competition will start after 11.00am.  Please register at the clubhouse before 11.15am.

At registration players will need to pay $20 for the facility hire and confirm their registration details.  No new entries will be accepted on the day.

*Both boys and girls may enter the open competition.  Girls may not enter both competitions.

If you would like your child to participate in the selection trials the attached form must be completed and returned to you PE teacher at school NO LATER THAN 9am Friday March 5th.  (LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED)

To be eligible to enter these trials students MUST be playing competition tennis.  Their coach must supply formal verification of club membership and grading.

School Sport Victoria - Team Vic Opportunities.

Hi Families,

School Sport Victoria will once again be offering the opportunity for students with emerging talent from your school community to register to trial for school sport Team Vic teams in 2021.

Registrations to trial will be opening very soon and remain open until Monday 1 March, 2021 for Team Vic Big 5 teams: 12 years and under Boys Australian Football, 12 years and under Boys Basketball, 12 years and under Girls Basketball, 12 years and under Boys Cricket, 12 years and under Boys Football (Soccer) and 12 years and under Netball.

Please note that registration to trial for these teams (per team) is limited to 3 students from your school. If there are more students than 3 seeking endorsement it is up to the school Principal to ensure a selection process is undertaken to choose the students most appropriate in 2021.

These are not Come ‘n’ Try opportunities. They are a process for selecting a Team Vic State Team going to School Sport Australia National Championships.

A minor change to the process for 2021 is:

a.            12 years and under Girls Australian Football will be offered. All nominees will go direct to State Trials.

b.            12 years and under Girls Football (Soccer) will not be required to go through stages of selection. All nominees will go direct to State Trials.
