Around the Classrooms

Take a trip around the classrooms

Grade 1/2W

1/2HW have been working hard over the past two weeks as we are entering into the final few weeks we have together. We have been busy creating two class novels. One class story explores the best parts of ourselves and the other is our class book of marvellous potions. Please see some examples attached! It is great to see our own work published in our class library for the class to read during silent reading time. Please check Seesaw for class updates and a video of the class reading their work. I'm so proud of these 17 hardworking and creative students! Miss Wood

Grade 1/2

Sharing some happy snaps of our clever Grade 1 and 2 children being creative with wool!

Their group working skills and the kindness they showed in sharing and helping each other,  was just a special as their beautiful designs.

We are very proud of them, they are all working like champions!

NAIDOC 2020 - Always Ways, Always Will Be

Storytelling brings us together. It tells us who we are. It carries truths and strengthens knowledge for future generations. First Nations people have known this for 80,000 years. Over the last few weeks, as part of our NAIDOC celebration, grades 3-5 have come together to share astronomical knowledge, stories, culture and history as we listened to Dreaming stories shared by First Nations knowledge custodians. From stories in the stars to stories of place, culture and belonging, together we learned the history behind place names, the importance of kinship and relationships and song lines as voice-maps of the landscapes.

As part of our Water Water Everywhere inquiry unit, we’ve been exploring and sharing the science of waves, patterns of motion and energy transfer with a little taste testing along the way! Putting our science research, investigation and observation skills to the test, we experimented with wave energy and properties and shared our findings with the rest of the school.

Grade 5

Share the Dignity

A big thanks to the Year 5 and 6 girls, their parents and staff that packed a bag in the ‘It's In The Bag’ campaign this week. This is the second year our girls have participated. Again the generosity of what was in those bags will gladden the hearts of the recipients.

The donation will go directly to someone living in crisis and in need of support during what could be one of the most difficult times in their life. It will support people from all different backgrounds, those fleeing domestic violence, experiencing homelessness and those doing it tough.

The bags will be delivered ready for Christmas,

Grade 6

The Grade 6s have been working hard on their Mixbooks for the end of year, and we are almost finished the filming for our graduation video which will be sent to families on the last day of the year. We're also pretty excited about celebrating the end of primary school with a day at Luna Park on Wednesday 16th Dec. It will be so nice to let our hair down with our friends after a challenging year.
