Principal's Message

Liam Buckley

God of Love,

Your son, Jesus, is your greatest gift to us. He is a sign of your love. Help us walk in that love during the weeks of Advent, as we wait and prepare for his coming. We pray in the name of Jesus, our Saviour.

Amen

Graduation

Dear parents,

Planning for Graduation has been difficult to say the least with the ever changing landscape of restrictions. We are however thrilled to be able to invite our Year 6 students and their parents to a Graduation Liturgy from 6pm - 6.30pm on Tuesday 15th December. Fr David has granted us permission to gather in St Joseph's Church to celebrate this milestone for our Year 6 students. There are still physical distance protocols in place so we ask you to restrict your group (child plus two). Masks will also be required inside the church.

From 6.30pm the Year 6 students and staff will celebrate the end of the year with a disco / pizza evening in the school hall from 6.30pm - 8pm. Parents to collect the children at 8pm as we have a busy following day.

For the students this year their graduation excursion will be at Luna Park on Wednesday Dec 16th between 10am - 2pm.

Luna Park run 'Schools Activity Week' where the park is closed to members of the public and is only open for school bookings for end of year celebrations.

Operoo permission letters will be sent early next week.

LSOs

I wanted to acknowledge the work that our Learning Support Officers contribute to our school and more importantly to our students. Learning support is designed to provide adjustments for students to access the curriculum as equitably as possible. Ange, Michelle, Mikaela, Tess and Pauline continue to be an essential part of our team and they had a great deal to our school and staff culture.

Survey

Dear parents

We ran a survey over the past few weeks to gauge the interest in providing before and after school care onsite. Unfortunately the results were not substantial enough for that particular provider to offer the service. I will revisit this in 2021 as I believe this could be a crucial part of growing our community.

Confirmation

The Sacrament of Confirmation will take place on Friday 4th Dec at 10.15am in school. The liturgy will be live-streamed via Google Meet if you would like to watch. The link will be provided in communications to Year 5 & 6 parents. We have Fr David's permission to take photographs of the candidates as they receive the sacrament or blessing. These will be made available to you. Thank you to Gai, Michael and Ben for preparing the students and thank you to Jenny Keely for the amazing work and support she provides as Religious Education Leader.

St Vincent de Paul hampers

Dear families this year we will be supporting St Vincent de Paul to gather goods for hampers for people less fortunate than ourselves. Please look on the RE page for details.

Art Club

Art Club finished our mural that the children have been working on for the past 5 weeks. The 5/6 students have been so creative in creating the final artwork and have been a pleasure to work with. From painting to singing and cleaning, it has been such a special time of the week. The final piece is currently on display at the front office. Well done to the senior children involved! Art Club is on each Thursday in the 1/2 HW classroom. Miss Wood

Chess Club

Thank you Mrs Phyland

Wednesday lunchtime we will be learning how to play Chess or enjoying a game with friends if we already know how to play - come and join us!
