Principal News

What an unforgettable 2020 we experienced... bring on 2021!  We have started the year in exciting ways:

  • The new Foundation students are energetic and raring to go.  We look forward to families introducing themselves at the upcoming Foundation Meet and Greet on Thursday 18th February.
  • The Year 6 student leaders are buzzing with excitement in their new roles.
  • We welcome back Mrs Richardson to the Middle School and Bianca Chiovitti as the new Art leader.
  • We introduce to the community a new specialist program, Environmental Studies led by Reagan Forbes (formerly Reagan Ryan).
  • We congratulate Jessica Mills (formerly Jessica Doolan) on her recent nuptials.

On Wednesday 27th January, staff were actively engaged in a Curriculum Day that set the tone and focus of the year.  We look forward to unpacking our 2021 focus with the community.

PRINCIPAL

Congratulations to Sally Herbert

With excitement, I announce that Sally Herbert has successfully been appointed Acting Principal at Toolangi Primary School for Term 1.  Sally has a real love for rural Victoria, and as such, this is a terrific opportunity for her professional growth.  We wish her all the best in her new role.  Further information to follow in relation to an Acting Assistant Principal for CSPS.

Visitor check in

  • ALL visitors (including parents/carers) MUST scan the QR codes before entering the school grounds
  • QR codes are placed at the gates and throughout the school
  • QR codes are not required outside of the school fences/boundary

School timetable

Throughout 2020, we took the opportunity to evaluate the school timetable 'times' that would best suit the needs of student learning.  We will notify the community when the timetable is finalised.

School day is 9.00 - 3.30pm

If you require an early pick up for a school approved reason eg. a medical appointment that cannot be arranged after hours, please phone the school when you are in the Kiss and Go Zone and your child will be bought out to your car.

Any early pick up is highly encouraged to occur during Break times; currently 10.40 - 11.25am and 1.05 - 1.50pm.

The Principal will monitor and document all early school picks ups to ensure valid reasons are provided, not merely per convenience eg. to travel to an after school activity and avoid traffic congestion.

Capital Works

It is exciting to update the community in relation to the Capital Works:

  • the successful tender has been officially appointed
  • the first site meeting is scheduled for Friday 5th February
  • works will commence ASAP

We thank the staff, students and community for their patience in relation to COVID delays.

Mobile Phone Policy

As the school year commences, it is imperative that all families are aware of the CSPS Mobile Phone Policy and requirements directed by the Department of Education.

Generally, the area of the school most affected are Year 4 – 6 families.

All Year 4 – 6 families are to:

  • Be aware of the Mobile Phone Policy and school requirements and address with their children.
  • Understand that all student mobile phone information will be recorded at a school level ie. model, colour etc…
  • Know that all mobile devices are locked in a cabinet during school hours.

Is your child in full, acceptable school uniform?

Annual privacy reminder

Our school collects, uses, discloses and stores student and parent personal information for standard school functions or where permitted by law, as stated in the Schools’ Privacy Policy.

Please take time to remind yourself of the school’s collection statement, found on the CSPS website.

Assembly will be held on odd weeks, Friday afternoons onsite Period 6, 2.35pm - 3.20pm. Due to ever-changing COVID restrictions, please check Compass for further details about community attendance.

We are making the final arrangements to commence Breakfast Club ASAP (Thursday and Friday  mornings from 8.35 - 8.55 am in the Gallery).  More information will be shared via Compass soon.
