School Uniform

Our expectation is that all students will start the new year with a full complement of school uniform.  With the school holidays approaching there is ample time for families to organise the various items students will need.  The uniform is fully stocked and ready to go.

We were very generous with uniform passes after returning from remote learning in an attempt to make the return to school as easy as possible for families.  In 2021 we will return to a more tightly monitored dress code with penalties for students who are out of uniform without a legitimate reason and communication from home.

School Shoes

When purchasing school shoes please be aware that the requirement is a black, full leather, lace up, low heeled shoe.  This may resemble a traditional school shoe or may have a sports sole provided the whole upper is leather.  Please check the tongue of shoe is also leather.  This ensures the shoes meet OH&S guidelines for he Technology workshops, kitchens, science labs and art rooms.  Each year we have ongoing issues with students whose shoes to not meet these requirements.  Your child may tell you "Its ok, the school doesn't mind, I can wear these shoes as they are mostly leather," however this creates real safety and equity issues for us at school.

Dress Length

We have noticed a recent trend for girls to be wearing their school dresses and skirts shorter and shorter.  We ask that parents impress upon their daughters that the uniform states that dresses should be no higher than the mid point on the thigh.  The school uniform has a level of formality about it and should not be worn as if attending a day at the beach.  It is a far less embarassing situation for students if their parents have these discussions than their teachers.
