Principal's Christmas Message

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Staffing Update

Our magnificent Office Assistant, Karen Hall, is taking up a promotion position in 2021 at Docklands Primary School. Friday, December 18 will be her last day at SMPS.

Karen has been truly wonderful. Her smile lights up the day for everyone who walks through the door and into the office. We could not have asked for a more friendly, vibrant, caring and fantastic human being to represent our School.

Whilst I am personally sad to see Karen go, I also understand that people pursue career opportunities when they present themselves and Karen is no different. We are so proud to see her grow and grasp chances when they come along.

Karen has only been at our school for a short period of time since arriving from Oakleigh South PS and has made such a difference to the lives of students, staff and community members. She is selfless and would give the shirt off her own back if she knew it would help someone in need.

We wish Karen all the best and our fingers remain crossed that she comes back to us some time in the future if the cards fall that way. You never know in this world and we would be very lucky if the swings and roundabouts of life work out that our paths cross again. Be well, Karen. Best of luck to you, your husband Jim and your kids Ben and Jackson. You deserve everything you get.

Merry Christmas

Your children are absolute superstars! Families, what a job you have done!! I would like to acknowledge the families for their incredible support through 2020 and, in particular, through the pandemic. It must have been really tricky for you to be online each morning receiving remote lessons. But, you never complained and you just got on with the job. You talked the school up - not down - and you became our biggest supporters. We are so, so, so, so GRATEFUL for the wonderful people you are. We wish there were other ways to thank you, but all we have are words.

Families have values that closely align to the school's (Character, Community and Learning) and our multicultural mix of students is a thing of absolute beauty. We love it!

A number of staff have received cards and gifts from the families. Please understand that we don't expect it and your thanks are enough. Having said that, if you have handed in a card, note or simple gift - we want to say thank you. Sometimes, you get a lovely gift and don't get the chance to pass on gratitude in person. Thanks for your generosity. We appreciate your lovely thoughts and gestures.

I want to pass on my sincere thanks to our wonderful staff. They have had a heck of a year and delivering lessons in remote-style was not our idea of fun. But, our team did it and did it with a smile. Three cheers for our magnificent team!

Merry Christmas to all of our community. We hope you get a rest and stay safe.

You are just beautiful. We are so lucky.
