F1 In Schools Update

Blue Mountains Grammar School has had an extremely successful history in the F1 in Schools STEM competition, and this season is no different. We have received the great news that three of our F1 in Schools teams, Photonic Racing, Peak, and Perpetrol, have qualified for the Australian National Finals for the F1 in Schools STEM Challenge.

The F1 in Schools competition is the world’s largest high school STEM competition which fosters the students’ skills and abilities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Students are set on the challenge of designing, testing, constructing, and racing a miniature Formula 1 car to go as fast as possible. They are also required to create a whole team identity, encompassing everything from designing a logo and brand, to marketing their project and acquiring sponsors to help fund them on their journey.

Teams will require around $3,000 each just to compete at the National Finals, starting 26th April. This is to pay for car manufacturing materials, team uniforms, and to create a full size flat pack display to showcase their team.
