Year Advisers Reports

Years 7, 9 & 11

The year has only just started and already we are almost at the halfway point for Term 1.

Year 7 has hit the ground running, quickly adjusting to life in high school. After a few minor hiccups, such as reading and understanding the timetable, traversing the breadth and depth of the school in search of those illusive classrooms and finding the location of the much sought after toilets, Year 7 students appear to be acclimatising well.

Student behaviour on the whole has been excellent, with many  teachers reporting that classes are full of attentive and engaged Year 7 students eager to learn.  With any luck this will be the trend as we move deeper into the term and head toward the already famous Great Aussie Bush Camp  (Monday 29 to Wednesday 31 March)

I am looking forward to knowing students better and excited for the adventures this year will bring.

Great start Year 7.

Welcome back to the new school year.

Here’s hoping the 2021 will be bigger and better than last year. Firstly I would like to welcome our new Year 9 students and their families to Henry Kendall High School: Jessica M, Alissa R, Breana J, Eloise P, Joshua N and Charlotte S.

Year 9 students have settled well into their next stage of schooling.  I would thank to thank all students for their mature approach to Year 9. Most reports so far have been positive and they are trying their best. Year 9 have started exploring their new electives and are thoroughly enjoying their experiences in those subjects.

Our annual swimming carnival was held on Friday 5 February.  Many of Year 9 students participated on the day and we had some very successful achievements.

Well done to the following students for stepping up and being Junior House Captains Jessica H, Jone C, Oskar A, Delany M, Chloe M, Sarah L, James V and Ava T.  Your contribution has not gone unnoticed. Also a massive congratulations to the Age Champions Sanika N and Cooper H. Good luck to the swimmers who have progressed to zone level which will be held later this term.

I look forward to watching you to start growing into young adults. Remember work hard, try your best and be kind to one another.

What an amazing start to  the year our Year 11 students have had.  I would like to congratulate them on having such a positive start to Stage 6. It has been wonderful to hear the positive comments from their teachers on their focused and mature approach to their studies.

Students have received their senior jackets and are looking fantastic!

Year 11 students are reminded that they need to ensure that they are wearing full school uniform.

I look forward to working with them for another  amazing year!
