Deputy Principal's Report

Mrs Natalie Wearne - Years 7, 9 & 11

We have started the year off in a busy fashion!

Year 4, 5 & 6 Information Night      for 2022  Year 7.

Years 4, 5 & 6 Night is our first community event for 2021. The event is a unique opportunity for Year 7, 2022 students and new parents to experience the many great achievements and programs offered at our school.

Due to COVID restrictions we will not be able to present the event in the usual face to face event.  We are currently filming various activities and programs from around our school.  The film will be viewed by students from our partner primary schools and parents / caregivers will be advised when the video is available on the school's website and Facebook page.

Application for our Academic Class is normally presented during this night, as the format will be different this year application packs will be delivered to partner primary school during Week 5. The Application Package will also be available from the school and can be mailed or picked up by parents and caregivers

Year 7 are settling into their new school setting and are partaking in some wonderful learning experiences with our staff.  Students need to be congratulated on their behaviour and application to their classes as well as their wonderful uniform.

We would like to remind parents and caregivers about the need to discuss cyber safety with all members of their families.  We still have students who communicate with strangers over social media - constant reminders about their cyber footprint is imperative.

Year 7 Camp

Year 7 Camp will take place in the last week of Term 1 (Monday 29 to Wednesday 31 March), notes and information have been sent home. Parents are reminded that lots of information regarding camp can be found on the school's Facebook page and  website.

Students participated in their Year 11 Information session and have been issued with their 2021 Assessment Schedules, the level of participation at the session was outstanding and an indication of the positive level of engagement. Parents and caregivers will be able to access the presentation on the school 's Facebook page.

Any further clarification regarding subjects and patterns can be directed to Mrs Natalie Wearne or to the Year 11 Adviser, Miss Cassandra McLennan.

School Uniform Reminder ...

Henry Kendall High School has a strong reputation in the community and this reputation focuses on our school pride.  Wearing the correct uniform is an important part of our personal and universal acceptance of our place in the school and community.

Members of The Senior Executive will meet students at the school gate at regular intervals and it is expected that all students will present themselves in full school uniform. Detentions will be issued to students who do not have a note for being out of uniform.

Banned items ...

Students have been reminded about not bringing aerosol cans to school; all cans will be removed from students.  Students can only use roll on antiperspirant while at school.
