Mr Butts' Announcements

Ash Wednesday

Today is Ash Wednesday which marks the start of Lent, 40 days before Easter.  Lent is a time to reflect on our lives, to remember that we all have a chance to make good our mistakes and start things over if we need to.  Rather than just give things up for Lent, we are encouraged to go out of our way to help others.  This week we launch Project Compassion, which raises money for Caritas. The children are taught that what seems like little to us can make a big difference living in poverty.  It is a great opportunity for us to go without a few things during Lent and put that money in our Project Compassion boxes.

Back to School as Normal!

Great news today with school resuming as normal tomorrow.  Thank you to everyone for their cooperation during another tricky week!

Opening Mass

Our Opening Mass is taking place next Friday 26th February at 10am.  Unfortunately family members will not be able to attend, but a link will be sent to parents to watch the mass  live streamed.

Indigenous Rock Collection

Aunty Ella Anselmi visited school last week to share her indigenous rock collection with the Prep students.  Her grandson Riley is pictured below with ochre (used for aboriginal art) which she accidentally found in a rock after she dropped it!

School Crossing

Could all parents and carers of children who use the school crossing please discuss safety and the rules when using the crossing.

FIRE Carriers Commissioning

Our student FIRE Carriers will be commissioned at our school assembly (starting 10 min earlier at 2:20pm) next Monday.  We also have a number of new staff being commissioned.  A link for assembly will be sent out to all parents and carers on Monday.

Welcome Prep Liturgy

Thank you to Mrs Hicks and the Prep Staff on a for preparing such a lovely liturgy last week.  The children were fantastic and the parents were very appreciative of the lovely welcome.  It was great to see so many families there. Well done to all!

Principal's Award

Week 3 Seth Foyster

Seth is a very respectful young man and demonstrates our PBIS qualities each and every day at school.  He has grown significantly in confidence and has impressed us with leading assembly and the high level of responsibility he shows with his Prep buddy. Congratulations Seth!
