Library News

It is now Week 8 and it is amazing how quickly the term has flown by. This week is Harmony Week, and Ms Adderley has created a window display in the foyer of the Senior Library which shows where in the world our students and staff come from. At just over 40 countries, we are certainly the world in microcosm here at Blackfriars.

The senior primary classes are well underway with their enquiry units, and we have spent some time looking at the updated library catalogue and search facility. In the senior library, regular book talks are taking place with some middle school classes, and it is good hearing the boys share their reading experiences with others. Many are quite involved with the PRC, and hopefully the completion rate will be as high as in previous years.

Nearly all the senior students should now have an ID card. Students should remember that ID cards are important items and are used not only in school for borrowing and printing, but for identification on public transport and other locations as well. Therefore, if any student does not have a card, they should come to the senior library in case they have missed picking it up or need their photo taken. If a replacement is required, then $10 should be paid to the Student Office and the receipt brought to library staff so a new card can be purchased.
