Prospect Road Autumn Fair

Prospect Road Autumn Fair

With only one week to go until the Prospect Road Autumn Fair, the day is shaping up to be a great day of community celebration with stallholders and activities hosted by a number of our school community groups as well as those associated with the broader Blackfriars and Prospect community.

Food stalls include a BBQ and pizza stand operated by the Blackfriars Old Scholars Soccer Club (supported by My Butcher and Schinella’s) and Vietnamese fare by Little Saigon.  The Blackfriars Parents + Friends Association will have donuts (supplied by O’Connell Street Bakery) and apple Slinky’s (with thanks to Schinella’s) for sale.  Drinks will be available from the Parents + Friends stall while the Blackfriars Old Scholars Football Club will operate a bar. Yes – there will be coffee too!

Joining our own music performers will be a group of talented students from St Mary’s College and Immaculate Heart of Mary School will be here selling cakes (and candles!). Our Lady of the Sacred Heart College will also be part of the day with a stall.

West Torrens Lacrosse Club will be on hand with come ’n’ try activities, demonstrations and to answer any questions about joining the club as a player in 2019. You can also catch up with the School of Little Swimmers and learn about their offerings to junior swimmers of all abilities.

You’ll have your chance to register for the 2019/20 Entertainment Book at the Fair with all proceeds going towards the fundraising initiatives of the Blackfriars Parents + Friends.

There will be a car park full of rides on the day offering something for all ages and the P+F Lucky Dip is sure to have something fun for the kids. Look out for roving performers from CircoBats Community Circus and there may even be an appearance by Bumbles the Clown. Our own ELC will run a drawing competition for all ages too!

There will be a diverse range of stalls in the Marketplace with artworks for sale by Old Scholar, Andrew Ormandy, pottery by Caroline Walker-Grime, fashion by GlamiGlam and handmade wood and resin furniture by Splitsplinters.  And don't miss out on our own Creative Arts & Design Technology students selling decorated pots.

If it’s health and wellbeing you’re after, don’t miss joining in the Healthy Inspirations demonstration at 11:30am or checking in for a free children’s vision screening with Wellness Eyecare. You can also talk about your next holiday with Travel Managers.

The Prospect Local Environment Group will be on hand with recycled items for sale, information about recycling and its events for 2019 and Anglicare will be there with information for families about their children’s services including disability services and the Autism specific specialist centre.

I’m sure you’d agree – there’s something for everyone at the Prospect Road Autumn Fair!!!

The day kicks off at 11am and will finish at 4pm. We’d love to see you there celebrating our community in the heart of Prospect!
