Creative Arts and Design Technology Faculty

The Year 9 Visual Art Class with Mrs Kenny and our department ESO Mrs Hansen have been busy preparing for a market stall. We have designed and painted plant pots and made glass terrariums.

We will be holding a CREATIVE ART & PLANT stall at the PROSPECT ROAD AUTUMN FAIR, Sunday 31 March.

We are hoping to be engaged in more activities and events as a Creative Art & Design Technology Community. If you would like to register as a ‘Friend of the CADT’ please contact Patrick Kelly pkelly@bps.sa.edu.au

What is FRIENDS OF CADT? Is a school recognised collective of community members offering their support and interest in the Creative Art and Design Technology Learning Area. We hope to gain support from ‘friends’ with incursions, excursion and community events. We hope to raise funds and the profile of the department through our commitment to creative endeavours and community events. This all can only happen by extending our department to gain support from parents and the community.

Our current pursuit is to engage the school-based programs offered as Artists in Residence by CDW Studios. CDW is apart of the Flinders University and it offers a range of courses and skills in 2d, 3d, VFX and Animation. Located in the Myer Centre in Rundle Mall the institution is accessible for our students and proves as a successful pathway into the creative industries. Currently we have students pursuing their tertiary education a CDW and we hope more students will see the opportunity at Flinders Uni attainable and a positive pathway into their futures.

Our intent is to build the technology of Wacom tablets into our courses through the guidance of the lecturers at CDW Studios. Watch this space …

CDW are offering holiday workshops for interested students. Please see Mr. Stanborough or you can take a flier from the DEPARTMENT PIN BOARDS.
