College Matters

Report from Council

As this is my first year on the School Council and hence my first School Council newsletter I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone on the School Council and the Mentone Girls' Secondary College community for their unwavering support. I would like to report to the school community that the School Council is a passionate and highly driven team that has all of our children’s best interests first and foremost.

The year we have seen some positive progress including:

*              Confirmed upgrading to the STEAM Centre with work commencing in 2019

*              Continuing discussions to improve our sports oval and surrounds

We have now seen our 2018 Year 12 Class depart the College to continue their journey into adulthood and we wish them all the very best for their futures.  They have created a part of history within our community.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our two student council representatives Nazy Jalali and Sinead Garry who spent numerous late evenings with the council ratifying changes and eagerly contributing to discussions that will enable our College to continue to flourish and prosper into the future.

On behalf of the School Council I would like to wish every a safe and relaxing holiday period and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2019.
