Principal's Report

ENROL NOW FOR 2019
If you know of anyone who has yet to enrol please encourage them to put in their forms as this assists with our planning for next year.
School Newsletter
This is a little bit of honk when you see this sign! Do you read the school newsletter. I am trying to see if this form of communication still works for us or if we need to reassess. A lot of time goes into creating the newsletter and I want to make sure that it is still a relevant form of communication. So please if you read the newsletter can you just send me a quick email saying yes I do!!!

School Review
On Friday we had the first official panel day of our review. The panel was comprised of a Principal - Cathy Jones, School Reviewer - Heather Norbury, School Improvement Education Leader - Justin Butler, School Council Vice-President Karen Coulson and a Leadership Consultant Jan White.
We spent the day looking at school data from the last 4 years, visiting classrooms and talking to students. It was a great day of celebration as we looked at the data that showed how far we have come in the last four years. The time and effort from the teachers has led to significant improvement in many areas of our school.
We particularly celebrated the fact that our students are happy students who want to learn and enjoy being at school. Our school Leaders were articulate and enthusiastic as they answered questions and talked about their learning with the panel. Students from other year levels met in a focus group and discussed what they enjoy about learning at our school and what we could improve on.
The whole day was a really positive day. We then identified some areas for more investigation that will elad to what our focus will be for the next strategic plan. We have a few more days of the review before we receive a report that can be used for us to use for our future planning and to further improve the teaching and learning at our school.
Bunnings BBQ
We have a bunnings BBQ booked for Saturday 28th July. I know that everyone has busy sports days however if you have any time available on that day could you please help us out. It is a great fundraiser for our school. There will be a board going in at the office for people to add names and for those that don't come in to school if you email the school upper.ferntree.gully.ps@edumail.vic.gov.au and we can add your available time in. We will need help to set up from 8am and ending at 5pm. We are hoping for a minimum of 3 people in each shift with 4 people in the busy lunch time.
Have a great week everyone.
Tabitha
