Junior School Captains

This week, Mrs Bernadette Milich, Rev. Angie Griffin and I had the privilege of interviewing nineteen Year 5 applicants for the position of 2019 Junior School Captain.  Next year will be the first year the Junior School has elected School Captains. All Year 5 students were invited to write a letter of application, in which they detailed their leadership experience and personal qualities. We were impressed with the applicant’s presentation, poise and ability to answer questions in an honest and detailed manner.  The 2019 School Captains will be announced at the Junior School Speech Day.

Writing Award

Year Five student Sophie Merrin’s work entitled "Possum Power" was selected as one of the winners of the prestigious 2018 Young Australian Writers Awards.  Sophie and her family travelled to Melbourne on Saturday night to attend the Awards Dinner presentation. The evening was held at the RACV Club.  Sophie is indeed a talented young writer and, we congratulate her on this wonderful achievement.

Junior School Uniform

With two weeks of school remaining, it is important that we maintain a high standard with our uniform. Hats must be worn to and from school each day.  Jumpers should only be worn over a crested shirt up until recess, when they are to be removed and placed in school bags.  If boys are cold, they must exercise the option of a shirt, tie and blazer.
