Hockey Success
Congratulations to Izzy Musson who has just returned from the U16 FHE Cup held in Perth. Izzy was representing the Ciriello Coaching Academy and she had to attend a number of trainings before departing to Perth. Izzy’s side played teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Japan and Western Australia winning two matches along the way. Despite coming home with her arm in a sling, Izzy thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the opportunity to play hockey at such a high level.

Netball Report
Netball is nearly at the end of another great season, with all College teams improving and developing throughout the season.
Round 4 was South West Games week with umpires picking four best players from a game and all competitors received certificates.
In the U11s College Jaguars played Gray St Swans and had a close loss.
The U1’s College Lightning team had a loss against Monivae while the Magpies played Gray St Eagles and experienced a win of 39-6. Alice Whitehead and Grace McPherson were the College girls awarded with best players from these teams.
In the U15/18 competition College Diamonds played College Vixens; Diamonds were lucky to get the win 46-24. The umpires’ selected best players from this game were Kate Millear, Ayleish Beaty, Lauren Richards and Kate Jessop. Over on the other court College Fever played Good Shepherd and won 24-6; Louise Millear and Juliet Page were named best players from College.
Round 5 and 6 saw the U11 College Jaguars have one win and in U13s College Lightning, still improving every game, went without a win. College Magpies had a win. In U15/18 College Vixens had 2 wins. College Diamonds had one win and a forfeit; College Fever won one out of the two.
More recently, round 7 saw some pleasing results for College with the girls being able to adjust their play to meet the slippery and wet conditions.
The two U13 College teams played against each other. The Magpies were just too good with some experienced players. Alice Whitehead shot well for the Magpies and Meg Ogle applied some great defensive pressure in the first half.
In U15/18’s the College Diamonds defeated Fever: star fill in Alannah Sander applied great pressure in the midcourt while Rimma Ross worked the ring well, scoring some nice goals. Vixens had a forfeit.
We have a well-deserved week off this weekend, with the following week being our final games. With many College teams looking to be involved in the finals I urge anyone to come down to Pedrina on a Saturday morning to encourage all College players.
Thanks go to all the umpires from the school too, who have been developing their skills each week; it is their efforts that enable the competition to run each week.
