A Few Reminders

* Classroom teachers should be the first port of call for parents if they have concerns or issues to raise relating to their child at the Junior School.

*All lunch orders must be at the Junior School Office by 9.15 am.  No late orders will be sent through.

*Parents are reminded to ensure their children know their end of the day arrangements, prior to leaving the house.  School Record Books/Diaries are a good place to write bus/car etc.

*Students are reminded to wear their winter uniforms with pride.  Top buttons should be done up, blazers worn to and from school and school shoes polished.

Wellness Week

What a huge success ‘Wellness Week’ was last week.  Well done Mrs Milich and her team of enthusiastic students.  Each day featured activities to promote wellness and House spirit.  The week culminated in ‘College Has Talent’, with Andrew Sun, Poppy Shepherd, Charlotte Warren, Alison Foster and Amelie Shrive flying the flag for the Junior School.

Fathers' Day BBQ

It was great to see so many fathers at the Junior School Fathers’ Day breakfast.  The sunny morning, coffee van and sausage sandwiches were appreciated by all.  Throughout the year there are many opportunities for fathers to be involved in the Junior School.  We would love to have some Dads as parent reps, readers in the classroom, significant others on overnight excursions, sporting coaches and parent/teacher interview attendees.

‘Every father should remember that one day his children will follow his example instead of his advice.’

Hockey Finals

Bandicoots 2 - Tassie Devils 0.

The first match of the finals was a tight and tense affair between these two College sides.  The 0-0 half time score line did not reflect the attacking nature of the match.  Both sides gave their all, with players leaving nothing on the pitch at the end of an energetic 60 minutes.  Well done to Heath Templeton and the Tassie Devils on a fabulous season.

Drop Bears 6 - Demons 3

Drop Bears progressed to the Grand Final with a solid win over Demons.  They led 3-1 at half time, and continued to pressure the under strength Demons side in the second half.  Harry Austin starred with 4 goals. Demons will play Bandicoots in the Preliminary Final.

Legacy

This week is Legacy Week, a national appeal to raise awareness and funds for the families of Veterans.  There are pins, wrist bands, pens and teddies available for purchase.  These items range between $2.00 and $10.00 and are available from Myrniong reception.

Last Thursday 29th August, The Hamilton and Alexandra College Junior School fielded a team of 36 budding golfers in the annual SSV Primary School Tournament at the Parklands Golf Club.  This event followed three weeks of golfing clinics run at the school by Mr. Chris Crabbe of Golfing Victoria.  Thank you so much to the Hunt, Laidlaw, Noske, Page and Spence families for assisting on the day: your help was very much appreciated!

Congratulations and good luck to the following students who have qualified to compete in the SSV Regional Golfing Tournament in Warrnambool during November.
