Principal's Report

Last week I had the privilege of attending the Sixth National Coaching in Education Conference in Sydney.  There I was introduced to a wonderful quote by the great system thinker Peter Senge, who said:

Real learning gets to the heart of what it means to be human. Through learning we re-create ourselves. Through learning we become able to do something we never were able to do. Through learning we reperceive the world and our relationship to it. Through learning we extend our capacity to create, to be part of the generative process of life. There is within each of us a deep hunger for this type of learning.

It was a timely reminder of the important responsibility our staff have in nurturing such outcomes and why many staff believe that ‘coaching conversations’ will bring even greater life to their classrooms.  Stay tuned.

Finally, I was also reminded that ‘trust’ remains a critical commodity in schools.  Trust reflects the degree of character, reliability, competence, warmth and stewardship in our relationships.   Our current foundations are built on solid ground but I am excited by the series of initiatives we have in place to further improve the quality of our relationships between all our connected community.  As the greater the trust, the better the outcomes for all students.
