Project Compassion

Thank you to all members of our community who have generously donated to Project Compassion this Lenten Season. Our donations will be forwarded to CARITAS so that they can complete their work of allowing all a dignified life through the provision of: education, health care, employment, food security and hygiene. A special mention to the Edmund Rice Society, under the leadership of Mr Balboa, who has tirelessly worked with collections and pancake sales.

Eddie Rice Hours

These holidays will see a number of Year 10 and 11 boys completing work for their Eddie Rice Hours. The aim of the program is to have our students working with and for those who experience hardship or disadvantage. If members of our community have connections to any organisation that works with those experiencing disadvantage and would like student volunteers, please contact me here at the College.

Easter Liturgies

Today, Years 5, 6, 7 and 8, and tomorrow Years 9, 10, 11 and 12 students are gathering in Our Lady of Dolours church to mark the most significant event of the Catholic Church calendar – Holy Week. Our liturgy incorporates a dramatization of the Passion of our Lord. The Stations of the Cross marks the events in the lead up to the crucifixion of Jesus. Everyone will be involved in our liturgy, as we will sing the last word of Christ from the Cross “My God, My God, why have you abandoned me!” at the end of each station. Much preparation has gone into this significant event to ensure that as a faith community we mark Holy Week with the solemnity deserved of such an occasion. Thank you to the Performing Arts Department, under the leadership of Mrs Westhoff, along with Mr Cummins, for the work needed for microphones and amplification, Mr Di Sano for leading the narrators and the Year 8 Drama students who took on the roles for our dramatization.
