A New Look for Tirkandi
Today Tirkandi had new images on its walls. These images not only tie into some of the most popular stories here at LNPS; but now also our School Values. Please have a look below and also come and visit during opening hours to get the full effect of this amazing addition to our LNPS library!
Book Series of the Week
Every week in Tirkandi a new series will be on display to help expose students to all different kinds of genres, authors and series.
Week 11 had the adventurous series Tashi. Week 1 had the Sci-Fi series Star Wars as that week we celebrated May the Fourth (force) be with you! Week 2 has the magical series, Dragon Masters.
Scholastic Book Club Orders
New term new issues! Issue 3 has been handed out. So, get in fast for your book club orders.

Premier's Reading Challenge
The Premier's Reading Challenge is open. The sheets have gone home to students.
As it is the 20th year for the PRC there is a new 20-book challenge this year. The students can challenge themselves to read 20 books instead of the usual 12.
Borrowing
Reception - Can borrow 4 books
Years 1, 2, 3, 4 - Can borrow 8 books
Years 5 and 6 - Can borrow 10 books
Parents – Can borrow up to 10 books
Books can be kept for a maximum of 2 weeks. All that is required for borrowing is a library bag (for Reception, Year 1/2) and no overdue books. Students are encouraged to manage their own library bags and to borrow regularly.
Returns
Students can either place books they want to return in their classroom library box or directly into the green returns box in Tirkandi.
Overdue, Lost or Damaged Books
The school library policy for overdue, lost or damaged books is as followed. For a library book that has been overdue / lost for 2 weeks or more or returned damaged, there will be a fee of $15. However, if the book is found or returned you will be reimbursed the full amount. Students will be unable to borrow until the book(s) are returned or the payment is made. The money goes towards replacing that book.
