FUNDRAISING & COMMUNITY EVENTS - TERM 2

EPS Walkathon

Friday 5 May

The much-loved EPS Walkathon this year supported Very Special Kids, an organisation that provides holistic palliative care for children and young people across Victoria. Walkathon donations are still coming in so we will announce the total in the next Newsletter, with 10% of donations going to Very Special Kids and the rest going to the school.

Thank you to Nat French (Mum to Eve, Prep), Yvette Hobbs (Mum to Romy, Yr 2 Felix, Yr 5) and , Mr De Nardis, Mr Gowens, and all the staff who organised the event and assisted on the day, and most importantly to all who walked, jogged, ran, and were pushed in prams!

Gratitude Stall for Mother's & Carers Day

Thursday 11 May

A highlight of the year for all of the kids, Mums, and carers alike!

Thank you to Kim Cook (Mum to Nancy, Yr 6) who has managed these events for a number of years; your thoughtfulness and organisation are second to none and we are so grateful for all you have put into the planning Kim! Thank you also to Yvette Hobbs for taking the baton, and to the Mum's and a special Dad (thanks Tom, Dad to Harriet, Yr 3 and Eloise, Yr 1) who volunteered throughout the morning, it is always a lovely activity to be part of with the kids full of much excitement, honest opinions ("Mum is on a diet, she won't like that!" or "I bought this exact mug for Mum last year and she loved it so much I wanted to buy it again!") and still getting to grips with the concept of money exchange!

Mother's and Carers Lunch

Friday 12 May

Middle Baths, Brighton

120 ladies attended the fabulous lunch held at the Middle Baths, Brighton, on a gloriously sunny Autumnal day! So much chatter, laughter and catching up ....

Thank you to all our raffle prize donors: MECCA Cosmetica, Bungalow Trading, Hey Tiger, Bega, Strong Nation, and, Middle Baths Brighton. And to Wanderlust for the incredible goodie bags full of collagen and turmeric tonic!

$1,715 was raised for the school in the raffle and a big thanks to Bec Miller for organising the raffle, to Emma Hunter (Yr 1, 3 and 5 Mum) and Phoebe Norman for organising the event, to those who donated prized, and to the Class Reps for all your assistance in the lead-up and on the day. It's the event that sells out in a matter of hours, but somehow everyone gets a ticket eventually and we look forward to hosting it again in 2024!

CLASS REPRESENTATIVES & CLASS WHAT'S APP GROUPS

Thank you to all the parents/carers who have stepped into the Class Rep role for each class. It has been a tremendous way to get fast communications out to the community and remind them about events, and key school messages and we hope you have all enjoyed the Class/Cohort drinks that have been arranged by your Class Reps.

WHOLE SCHOOL KEY DATES CALENDAR

Don't forget that we now have a 'one-stop-shop' for all key dates for the year; it includes all school holidays, curriculum days, community and fundraising events, and when the kids need to be dressed in PJ's, footy colours, or their favourite book character!
