Tommy F - 2B

For constantly asking ingenious questions and not being afraid to ask further questions if needed. Furthermore, they enjoyed generating deep questions for their information text so that readers of their information text can become more intrigued.

 

Charlotte B - 4B

Charli has made a wonderful start to Grade 4. She consistently applies effort to her classroom tasks and has displayed her natural curiosity throughout Terms 1 and 2. During Term 1, she investigated Australia Day, and came to the conclusion that it should be recognised as a celebration and not a commemoration. Furthermore, this term, she has chosen to research the topic of Volcanoes, wanting to know more about where they can be found and how they are formed. Congratulations Charli B! 

 

Jack S - 5A

Jack demonstrated curiosity during our study of information texts in English. Jack effectively drew key information from his chosen text on gorillas. He passionately shared his understanding and new perspectives with the class. Keep inquiring into the world in which we live Jack! 

 

Jack S - 6A

Jack went above and beyond during our Big Question last term “Change: How do we adapt?”.  In his Going Further project, Jack thought out of the box with his model of Captain Cook’s ship The Endeavour, and the thoughtful information accompanying his model. With such a unique way to communicate his understanding, Jack has blended his creativity with his curiosity.

Personal Excellence

Lachlan C - 5/6A

Although a quiet achiever, Lachie showcases his desire to achieve personal excellence in all areas of learning. He is increasingly demonstrating initiative, independence, and flexibility in his decision-making and questioning of new and challenging concepts. Wonderful work Lachie.

 

Oscar F - 6B

Oscar has come into Term 2 ready to learn! Oscar has been an excellent contributor in class by thinking creatively and sharing his ideas. He has been motivated in his maths, pushing himself to ask questions and deepen his understanding. Oscar has been working hard and trying his best, keep it up!

Responsibility

Euan S - 2A

Throughout the school year, Euan has consistently exhibited Responsibility through his daily actions. Each day he arrives prepared and ready to learn, and sets a great example for his peers. Euan shows diligent care in keeping his belongings orderly and neat, and extends that same attitude towards maintaining a tidy classroom environment for everyone to enjoy.

 

Additionally, Euan has shown great Responsibility and initiative by raising money for a cause that he believes in by selling his artwork. Well Done Euan!

 

Daisy C - 3/4A

A responsible and dedicated member of 3/4A, Daisy comes to class every day organised and ready to learn. She takes great pride and care in her work, and will always ask questions and share her ideas with her peers. She is a supportive role model to others, especially those in their younger years. Keep up the awesome work Daisy!

Excellence in English

Ace D- 2B

For striving to put in a lot of thoughts and record original ideas in their Writer’s Notebook. In particular, as a competent writer, they have acknowledged the importance of handwriting in their writing pieces and chose to exploit the handwriting strip so that they can continuously improve on their own handwriting.

 

You should be so proud of yourself Ace and let’s keep up the good work! 

 

Anouk S - 4A

This year, the following student has consistently shown their ability to engage, share, and collaborate during literacy lessons in class. Their love for reading is inspiring, and this passion was reflected in their narrative writing piece that was published at the start of this term. The story titled ‘Lost’, written by Anouk, was inspired by the dramatic storm of Term 1 and showed her talent for drawing inspiration from her experiences to enhance her writing. Congratulations Anouk!

 

Paige G - 5B

Paige did an excellent job on her 'Going Further' inquiry project. She used a unique and creative approach, with a diary-style narrative that evoked emotions through rich language. Her project cleverly explored the experiences of an Australian girl during WWII in Darwin. 

 

It was a joy to read your work, Paige!

 

Oliver B - 5/6A

With impactful word choice, Oliver has selected strong verbs to move the action along in his Cold Write.

 

He was focused and determined to develop a piece to show off his writing skills.

Excellence in Maths

Owen A - 2C

For demonstrating their great understanding of solving addition and subtraction problems on a number line using a range of strategies such as finding the difference. They were able to challenge themselves and solve challenging, two-step word problems and enjoyed sharing their thinking and strategies with their peers.  Well done Owen!

 

Tom M - 4A

From the very beginning of this year, Tom has been actively engaged in every maths session. In addition, his clear and detailed bookwork reflects his dedication to improving his understanding of each new topic introduced. This term in mathematics Tom has shown a sound understanding of decimals. He has been able to share his knowledge about parts of whole numbers and extended this to identify patterns in decimal charts. Well done Tom!

 

Lucas F - 5A

Lucas has shown dedication and persistence during our fractions unit in Maths. He was always eager to learn and apply his knowledge whilst completing a range of worded problems. Lucas has demonstrated his strong understanding of fractions through his ability to explain his solutions to his peers.
