Positive Behaviours for Learning

At SFS, our school expectations are:

Respect

Responsibility and

Kindness

This week we have continued to focus on the expectation of RESPONSILBILITY in OUTDOOR SPACES and think before you act.

Your child may bring home an acknowledgement card if a teacher sees a child showing our key values of Respect, Responsibility and Kindness. We will particularly focus on our school expected behaviour for the week that is the focus of our PBL lesson.

If your child brings home an acknowledgment card, have a chat about why your child has received the card and sign the card. The card then comes back to school and will go into a raffle box. Every Friday, one Junior and one Senior student’s name from each learning space will be drawn out. That child will get to choose from coming on Monday in casual clothes or they will get 15 minutes of free time on Monday afternoon.

SFS Twilight Community Market

We are excited to have our annual Twilight Community Market. This year it will be held on Thursday 9th November 2023. The market will run from 5 to 8pm. If you or someone you know has a small business you would like to promote, please complete one of the expression of interest forms that you will find in this week’s newsletter. You can also pick up a form and complete it at the front desk at the school office. The cost of a stall is just 20 dollars. Maybe you can come up with an idea with your family or something you can make and sell at the market. Put the date in your diary and tell your family and friends. Let’s make this year’s market the best one ever! I have already locked in a variety of stalls from toys, clothes, candles and plants and lots of yummy food trucks. If you are able to donate a prize or goods that we may be able to raffle that we be greatly appreciated too. Mindful Moment Practice

Mindfulness is the practice of focusing your mind and efforts on one task. The regular practice of mindfulness is great for your mental health and wellbeing. In the busy lives we all lead it is important to find these moments. Here's a short practice called Connecting To Something Bigger which you can try right now to discover a greater sense of meaning.
