From the Principal

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall!!

We certainly have an amazing mirror finish on our hall floors. You can clearly see a perfect reflection already and there is still a final coat to go on. The floor will be gleaming brightly by next week. We are now at the countdown stage with less than a handful of site meetings to go. Despite the inevitable bumps and obstacles we are approaching the end and the hall is looking sensational. Carpets were laid this week, cabinets installed and toilets were getting fitted as well.  The builders FIMMA and architects Baldasso Cortese were justifiably proud as they toured for an inspection this week. We are going to have an amazing facility for our school community.

Staff News

It is with sadness that I need to inform you that Mr Anthony Preston has accepted a teaching position during the last school holidays at a school that will be closer to his new home and thus will be leaving our school on the 26 May. We will be farewelling Anthony at our school assembly on the 26 May. We invite you to join us as we thank Anthony for all his wonderful work with us for the past five years. We are in the process of advertising this position.

Welcome Fr Fabian

Fr. Fabian D'Souza commenced at our parish on Wednesday. He attended the Parish Pastoral Council Meeting on Thursday. Fr Fabian is looking forward to meeting our staff, students and community. He is very keen to get to know us and make regular visits to our school. We wish Fr Fabian the very best as he commences his new role. We pray that God blesses him and his work in our parish. Fr Fabian will be the celebrant at every Mass this weekend. He is keen to meet parishioners and pray for our parish community.

Enrol Now For 2024!! .....Start Spreading the News!!

Click and ENROL NOW on our website or BOOK a tour.

To make things easy, parents can book a tour or complete an application to enrol via our website. Please continue to promote our school. Word of Mouth references is one of the key ways parents tell us they know about our school. So keep spreading the news of this wonderful learning community. We have completed sibling interviews this week and will be commencing Prep 2024 interviews with new families in coming weeks.

School Uniform

Thank you to all parents who ensured children were wearing their correct uniform for photo day. They all looked great. Just a reminder that all students must now be in full St Francis de Sales winter uniform. This includes shoes, socks and hair ties. Please ensure that your child wears our uniform correctly and always wears black school shoes (not runners) on the days they wear the school uniform. Runners are only permitted to be worn on days where students are wearing their sports uniform. Uniforms are a great way to celebrate and belong in our school and it is most important that the uniform code is worn every day in the correct way.

School Gates

A reminder that the school carpark gates open at 8:30am. It is important that parents do not follow staff into the school carpark prior to this time. Staff have gate remotes and the gate automatically closes after them. If you risk entering after a staff member, you risk damage to your car. This has already occurred for a couple of parents. If you disregard our school rules, the resulting damage is a consequence you will have to absorb. As explained teaching hours commence at 8:30am and teachers who are there prior to this time are there of their own accord preparing for their day. Teachers are not on duty to supervise, Supervision commences at 8:30 am so that we abide by the new teaching award. Parents who need to drop children before this time need to use Kharisma Kids Before Care. They have a reduced rate if you only want your child there for a short time.

Important  Days

  • As a result of the great success and positive feedback from our very first Grandparents day in 2022, we are going to do it again this year!! Invitations will be sent home via your child/children next week. We look forward to grandparents and special friends (if grandparents are not able to attend) joining us for a fun afternoon. In order to organise catering for afternoon tea, it is vital that parents RSVP numbers on Operoo.

Please save the date: Monday 22 May - Grandparents Day

  • Please note the following Staff professional learning closure date for Term 2, 2023. Friday 9th June ( Week 7, Term 2)

  • A historic event will take place this weekend. The coronation of a new monarch is a ceremony that most of us have possibly never witnessed before. We wish King Charles 111 every success.

Enjoy a great weekend. Looking forward to another great game by the Mighty Pies!!

Regards,

Christine White
