Dear Parents and Carers

There is much research that focuses on the benefit of parents being engaged in their child's learning. At St Joseph's Bulli we look to support parents in partnership to fulfil the mission of creating

“vibrant school communities where every  student finds meaning and purpose in their life through experiencing continual growth in faith and improvement in learning”

The parent-school-partnership-framework is a wonderful document which outlines strategies and aims for this partnership to have a positive effect on learning.

One area of focus aligned to our Annual Improvement Plan is Active Engagement. This can occur through participating in initiatives such as volunteering to support reading in the classroom, reading in the Library before school, supporting extra curricula activities such as Movie nights, Fetes , attending Friday assemblies, attending Family Masses each month or simply having conversations with your child about what they are learning in class. Next week Curriculum Notes outlining what your child will be learning this term will be sent home.

If you would like to make contact with your child's teacher to discuss any concerns or share information regarding your child's please either phone or email the school office to request an appointment.

The Catholic education website provides a parent carers resource section that covers a range of ways parents can engage in their child's learning. I would encourage you to check out what is on offer.

Class teachers nominate students for Blue Merit Awards and are presented at the weekly assembly.  When five Blue Merit Awards have been received, students send them to the school office to be recorded and are then eligible for a Principal’s Award. When students attain their 4th Principal Award, they are awarded a Principal’s Medallion at an assembly. End of Term awards can be included as part of the 5 awards.
